About the artwork

In 1973, Elisabeth Leuenberger won the competition for the artistic décor for the small auditorium building in the Department of Physics, which had been realised by architect Albert Heinrich Steiner from 1961 onwards. Her wall relief “Systematic Oscillations” consists of flat elements in exposed concrete that alternate in a coordinated rhythm with groups of waves.
